Leveling Up:  You gain experience points for accomplishing goals, killing things, cunning plans or really just about anything that the GM feels it would merit it.  Experience points are rewarded at the end of each session.  Your character gains a level when she reaches the associated experience total.

Few notes on xp

Kill XP
Kill xp is the most traditional xp handed out. Calculated by who does what in combat. I use a simplified formula where in if you help you get half credit. Heal the person fighting something? You get credit for it. Do damage? Credit. In specific situations you may also get credit if you did something like act as a decoy to lure several targets in so a party member can hit them with an AOE. Or you push/pull a target into a party members trap or effect.

Hacking/Lockpicking/Disarm
Flat XP bonuses scaling on toughness of challenge with bonuses for mitigating factors. Disarming a mine might be 50xp, disarming a mine with magic just before you run over it then re-arming it as you pass might be 200xp. Hacking a terminal under gunfire or racing the clock yields higher rewards then walking into a secure room and taking your time to hack it.

Quest XP
Found something, did something saved something. Finding the Blooodwings completed a quest of sorts, Solving the mystery of the two houses another. Generally this is either group one time such as finding the Bloodwings lair or uncovering a clue in the town. It's normally named by what you did and can be anywhere from tiny bit of xp to half a level.

Uncovered clues
This is a generic catch all for a player noticing something I hinted at that everyone else missed. Also used if xp is solo quest and you helped.

Successful plan
5% of a level if you tell me you want to do something clever and manage to pull it off from good rp or good rolls.

Unsuccessful plan
Trying a plan and failing so badly it becomes memorable.

RP
The last line of every day, a solid 10% of the level if you played like how you wrote your character to be. Can be lost if you do something very nontraditional without explanation. Or you don't provide a good reason at the time. Example Smooth Tongue finally starting to act like a trader in session 5 but missed a chance to question ponies in session 4. Example Back Draft not justifying why he was letting Flashpoint charge into a potential powder keg with the Burning Mare on his tail lost him the bonus session 4. Most of the escape Back Draft was not thinking like a good wasteland doctor with enclave training but did session 5.

Well last night certainly was an action packed session. And Adder was overly nice and had mercy on them for one set of bad rolls. I don't suspect that to happen again, but the group as a whole should be thankful and remember that lest he decides to make a bad situation worse in the future.

Though considering the resulting actions of said mercy, may have been trading one evil out for another.

Lots of xp but much of it was missed, a few chances to disarm that failed a few plans that all failed but not notably. Back draft missed out on xp because Alouette found out the "this stable has several ponies in barding with different stable numbers" xp from last session. The numbers Alouette saw were 39, 42, 14 and 2. Backdraft saw 42 and 2 this time missing the 14 the last time.

Since we did not have time to hand this out as the the night was already late I'm detailing it now for the group.

Session 6 Part 1


We begin this week still within the stable tucked away into the valley a few miles away from Meadow's Ford.  They were in a room with 12 doors, six interior four looking like the lead elsewhere.  One was locked up tight and they checked three of the four outside doors avoiding only one door into a storage room and one door with many "warning don't open, no seriously don't open this" signs tacked up on it.

Searching the last of the stable bedrooms finding bits of paper, sparkle cola, bent nails and in Back draft case a landmine trapped desk.  Just as Back Draft was recovering from the land mine going off at his hooves and shredding the desk Draz decided to open the walkway door to the south.  Had he time to admire view he would have seen the floor materials of the stable change, the room beyond a clear two step security room setup except both doors were already open.  He could see beyond another brightly lit room full of equipment and a single ghoul looking in his direction.  Taking the smart move he closed the door.

By the time the group had all gathered up and gotten ready to engage whatever lay beyond that door.  By the time everyone was ready to go a full minute had passed.  Opening the door again Draz engaged the first ghoul beyond the door as the rest of the group engaged.  Gunfire lasted a few minutes before taking a rest they slammed the door closed again When next the door opened again it was from the other side, the glow of a unicorn horn could be seen at the other end of the hallway as a Pegesus ghoul broke from the rest of the park and knocked first Flashpoint then Back draft then Akapesh down in one long hard charge.  Point black Draz and Flash point struck into the horde of ghouls trying to bite and scratch at them.  Behind Akapesh and Alouette fired over their heads into the mass of zombie ponies.

It was at this point that the Ghoul Pegasus ducked around the corner and vanished from view after knocking Smooth Tongue down.  Draz and Flashpoint moved up to the second set of doors fighting hoof to shotgun to force the tide back.  Flashpoint had just enough time to see the flare of a unicorn horn before all thought and feeling fled him.  All thought of what came before vanished as he saw ghouls trying to eat him and strange zebra beside him.  Seeing confused look Flashpoint was giving everypony and fighting more or less at random ghouls it was Alouette who came to his aid and slammed the far door shut in the ghoul unicorns faces with a touch of telekinesis.  Coming back to himself Flashpoint at last heard what Smooth Tongue had been shouting, "fall back I'm going to burn the room down."

With Draz falling back Flashpoint decided to shoot them back up only to have the far door at the end of the hallway open again.  The Ghoul unicorns had again opened it again and cast a spell at Flashpoint who promptly floated up and hit the ceiling and bounced off.  Alouette and Akapesh continued to trade shots over Draz's head now focused on the two ghouls who were casting spells.  Back draft fell back looking for the Pegasus ghoul which had gotten past everypony.  

Floating Flashpoint tried fighting his shotguns and missed flying backwards with each shot missing as much as hitting but the weightless spell worked to Alouette advantage a second later as Draz ran clear.  Using the cover of the two zebra's she reached out with her weak telekinesis and snagged the weightless Flashpoint and dragged him behind the door.  Six seconds later Smooth Tongue tossed a fire bomb into the room and slammed the door shut.

There was fire, explosions and burning and the door stayed shut for a long moment, before the vanished ghoul Pegasus returned just in time to see Flashpoint with his back turned as it began a flight trick dragging a concussive wave after itself. Back draft gave warning and got hit himself as it blew past him as the Pegasus tried (and mostly failed) to drop two hooves directly on Flashpoints spine. He hit but armor not spine and Flashpoint put him down with two point blank shotgun blasts a few seconds later.

At that moment the into the room they had fallen back to and darkness flooded into the room.

Session 6 Part 2

The darkness for most of them was total, only Smooth Tongue and Back draft could see the black curtain of blackness cutting off all visible light into the room. What followed as a lot of shouting, swearing and shouts of pony macro polo. Smooth Tongue and Back Draft were the only ones to see the darkness surge forward a second later as an unseen door hissed open and closed. Thinking fast it Draz tried to summon a spirit of light to counter the magical darkness and... well lets say he got a great spirit of light who had no interest in talking to him nor could he control . However it worked in his favor as the darkness bled away for a few seconds, enough to see two unicorns creeping through the group trying to get beyond the group. But the spirit left and darkness returned. Alouette and Smooth fought fought magically to counter the darkness when one of the ghouls made a mistake and Smooth Tongue was able to counter the spell.

The room faded back into view, one of the ghouls almost to the end of the hallway while one was blinking and looking confused besides Flashpoint... who promptly shot him,. The other ghoul wasting no time however charged to the unopened door as Smooth Tongue and Back tried to fend him off it reached out magically and opened the door.. to reveal half a dozen ghouls all laying in the room on piles of boxes of various kinds. No one to look and oppertunity in the mouth Smooth tongue used his last fire bomb, tossed it into the room and slammed the door shot on the explosion. Which was more than he expected as several dozens round of ammo, two bottlecap mines and an ammo barrel all went up at once and everything inside was either turn apart or destroyed.

Seeing it's primary plan fail the last ghoul, the unicorn ghoul who was still together enough to open doors if not communicate cast it's darkness spell again and tried to sneak back the way it came. Again Smooth Tongue countered it's magic and it became visible and without choice ran for it trying to recast it's magic and failing. It stopped slam a door shut it ran with most everyone in pursuit. Seconds later Back draft and Flashpoint had it corned at a door which Alouette kept closing as it tried to open it. Knocked down and held still it would only croak the world "dead" at Flashpoint before playing it's last card and triggering the alarm system built into the hallway they were in.

All around the "stable" doors slammed closed except for primary access points as a security lockdown went into effect as the Unicorn Ghoul was still smart enough to telekinetic flick the alarm button built into the wall of the room. This done it relaxed as the two living ponies would soon have not oxygen in the sealed room. To avoid this Alouette and Akpesh went back to the security room to end the lockout. No sooner had they ended the lockout then the ghoul re-triggered it and fought it's way free for a few seconds as the alarms again re-activated and a few seconds later Alouette at security control disarmed it again. Breaking past them the Ghoul tried escaping from three other doors in the generator room before again being cornered and shot by Back draft. Unfortally as this was the generator room a missed caused the building to go into lockdown for the third time. Once again Akapesh made the trip back to unlock the building for the third time.

The session ended with Draz smashing the ghoul's skull with a hoof and the rest exploring this room just in time to find a very different looking room and a half emaciated pony in a room where chewed on corpse. It's clear they had been trapped in here awhile but the door had not been locked, who are these ponies, what are they doing hiding in a generator side room in this not a stable and why did it look like they were trapped when the door had no obvious lock on it.

But that is a question for another session

Last week a door opened, ghouls were shot and plot details were missed.  This week a door opened and the party found it self face to face with a pony nuttier than a bag full of squirrels.  In true fashion Back Draft took one look at the two ponies and saw they had been trapped in this room for quite some time as the door had no open on the other side.  Both were thin and dehydrated and clearly not exactly in top heath.  One was unconscious and the other was hopped up on so many drugs it was clear he had tried to drink the blood of the other pony for moisture.  Thinking fast the party pored water on him and tossed him some water bottles but did it in such a way the pony went off and turned to attack.  So they all backed out and shut the door on him.  The left him there while they went to explore the rest of the stable.

Soon they had found a few more things, opened a few doors and run across two things they had skipped before.  One a ghoul kitted out in equestrian army barding traced with zebra gylps.  He went down easy but he had an access card on his body which they used to open up the rest of the doors in the place.  There they found CB-2 a cake making robot design for use with the ministry of moral.  It's a robot that makes cake!  No more need to deliver birthday cake to front line troops in Luna's army, now we can send this robot to make cake onsite!  It was a brilliant idea which sadly was after it's time.  However in an attempt to hack it to turn it to their side they set off it's self defense routines and it attempted to turn them into pony cakes Akapesh was able to use his zebra smarts to simply rip it's power source out.  Three times the size of a normal power source and four times as heavy they elected to leave it next to the robot.

Gathering up they all headed downstairs to explore the sub level of this stable. Traveling down the walls changed from the normal stable wall to much more raw and unfinished look. Panels that would have covered over wires were missing. Doorway's were in place without doors and there were no lights installed anywhere. Coming to a junction they heard from the darkness a robot voice ask them for ID. Alouette trotting forward showed her ID and was granted access. The robots promptly turned to the rest of the party and asked for IDs. Flashpoint being his normal self elected to shoot them. Combat ensued as Alouette hurred around looking for a terminal or access panel to shut down the robots. As shotguns met metal and metal won (Mostly)

Session 7
Part 2


When we left our party Alouette was using an ID taken off an unusual stable survivalist to bypass the robo-ponies down here.  But Flashpoint rather than fall back or trying to talk past the robots instead simply decided to use his standard negotiation tactic of shotguns to the face.  Alouette hurried around trying to find an access panel to shut these robots down but kept lucking in finding many rooms with very interesting equipment but no shut off the murder bots button.  

Meanwhile at the fight the party was doing well mostly because these robo ponies while well armed were terrible shots.  The first time the party knew how hard they could hit was right after Smooth Tongue chucked an anti-matrix grenade at them.  While it had hurt them it failed to shut them down as two of them turned on Smooth Tongue and dropped him from full heath far into the red with just three solid hits.  At this point with the talker almost dead Back Draft preformed an air lift... well hover lift to get Smooth Tongue out of there while Flash Point got them focused on him.

Alouette search was still striking out, she found an unfinished room, a generator room with an experimental sparkler generator, an operating room with a dead ghoul and finally the office of one Doctor Bright Eyes.  On his desk another terminal sat, near it several large locked boxes and two desks piled with paperwork and notes, one of which looked very much like a terminal password...

Back in the fight Akapesh had found the best way to fight these robots was to simply rip out there unprotected power supplies.  First Flash Point would distract then Akapesh would strike, then Draz attacked and while the robot turned on the shaman the other Zebra struck and removed the power supply.  One robot dead, two de-powered, all hostiles but one dealt with.

This other robot had not been hostile to begin with, as the other robots had attacked it had slurred at Draz to present an ID.  Then it would pause and ask again as if seeing the pony for the first time.  It's battered exterior showed it had been damage before by something and it was clearly not all there.  But despite the fact ponies and zebras had fought it's fellow's not ten feet away, without it itself being attacked, it's programing had simply cycled it's response over and over again as it forgot it had asked a question.  With the fight over Flashpoint rather than waiting for Akapesh had simply wandered up intending to put this broken robot down with two well aimed blasts from his battle saddle.  Uncomfortably for Draz, while it's security programs were corrupt it's self defense programs worked fine.  As it proved a second later when swinging a plasma lance built into it's arm within inches of Flash point only to slam full into Draz and stagger the Zebra shaman.

Alouette having no time to sort the doctors paperwork simply threw it all in her saddle bags trusting the sorting spell on her pipbuck to take care of the cataloging.  Turning to the computer she hit the shut down robots command just as combat ended.  With everything quiet she turned to look the room over only to her guns go off again, she raced back and tapped the shut down robot command over and over again to no effect.  Unknowing every robot but two had already been dealt with.  The damaged robot in the machine shop having lost since lost the ability to take outside commands never heard the shut down command as it dropped Flashpoint within inches of death with a another slam of the plasma lance.

In desperation Draz called on the spirits of the world to aid Flash point, and has had twice before when attempting to call add for Flashpoint again something far beyond his control answered his call.  The spirit of life which came to his aid awed him with it's strength, with the raw pure energy of life it contained.  Only the basics of his wishes were communicated to the great spirit and slightly the spirit indicated it would answer his call.  The spirit vanished as Flash Point felt a deep sense of calm, of relaxation and fell instantly into a deep healing trance.

In the middle of combat

Things might have gone worse if Akapesh had not arrived half a second later to smash the power control systems on this robot as he had ripped out the other three.  With a thud the last robot fell and the party gathered itself up looking over three badly hurt members and a still Stable.  A Stable they learned earlier was not a stable but a Stable Tech Depot, a quiet testing facility and storage area for the hundreds of experiments Stable Tech had run in the lead up to constructing the first working Stables before the war.  Within Depot 3 they had found two different generator designs, a recycling machine that no longer worked.  A self contained nail/bolt/fastening machine perfect for helping providing the parts to make repairs in stables.  The last one which had interested them the most was a stable clothing maker.  It could use raw materials of cloth and thread to make clothing in a limited number of subsets.  Having no extra cloth and not willing to tear up the existing stable barding they had not tested it yet but they planned to.

However one last thing to do down here, and that was loot the place.  This went easy enough at first until it came time to Dr Bright's room.  Inside a box of what looked like medical supplies they found instead pictures and a poorly put together booby trapped grenade.  Another box held a much better put together trap that Alouette failed to set off almost on accident.  Inside the desk the flash bang attached to the gas grenade trap worked perfectly even if the gas grenade failed to go with just because it was tied to the flash bang.  It was clear from the two frag mines, three grenades and various bits of trap making string that someone had tried to booby trap his possessions but had not exactly had the best idea how to.  Aside from Akapesh accidental temporary blinding and the bottle cap mine last session none of the traps had gone of successfully.  

Dragging everyone back upstairs they settled into the bedrooms they found on the top floor intending to spend the night in the relative safety of the StableTech Depot.  Draz had grabbed a grizzly harvest of ghoul body parts on an experiment of his.  Flash Point was tucked in by Alouette since he was helpless and smelled like cinnamon for some reason.  Smooth Tongue was still in full drama pony mode while Back Draft saw to the various party hurts.  The last one left was Aakpesh still who spent his first hour of sleep tearing down robots in the basement for parts, also he did this in the firm believe that robots without arms or power supplies are safer for all involved.

Up next, after some more payday a few interesting excerpts from Dr Bright Eyes on his study of ghoul psychology and what exactly he was doing with bags full of ghoul corpses and with one partly taken apart on an table.

Well guys I'm in for a late night at work this saturday, we are slated for 5pm and work is going to be till 11 pm at the earliest,

I am free sunday evening, 6pm at the earliest, is it possible to schedule the game for Sunday Night at 700pm CST?
