Karaoke Night!

So after a hard day's night of killing zombies, a few of us in the steam group had probably the best idea ever: Karaoke Night! We'll all make a list of songs for each other to sing, figure out a good day+time, and hop in the teamspeak server for a couple hours of epic fun.

The more suggestions for songs, the better! And don't forget to give recommendations for when would be a good time to try this.


If you don't have a microphone, don't worry. Everyone's invited, the server has a chat box, and a couple of us can actually sing.

Ah, "Gay Bar" takes me back; it was something of a group singing staple for some of my friends at school a few years back. Also "Livin' on a Prayer," "Country Roads," and the Lil' Jon splice of "Bake a Cake." Some more serious suggestions than the last one include "Sail Away Sweet Sister," "Zoot Suit Riot," "Piano Man," " '39," "The Best is Yet to Come."

However, you seem to forget that having people actually able to sing is antithetical to the point of karaoke.

Since I was asked about catigories, while karaoke is about having fun first and foremost, I think there needs to be a serious and silly group. I would actually attempt to sing any Johnny Cash song, but Tub Thumpin' will be a gibberish mess by the end

Ok here's the deal. Soundcloud only offers a cap of 120 minutes, and our recordings are actually over by 15 minutes. So instead, I uploaded them to <a href="http://www.mediafire.com/folder/q2thfwti5qdc9/Singalong_Sundays">mediafire</a> where you can download and listen at your discretion. I don't think we're planning on singing this upcoming Sunday, unless plans change. Also, does anyone have any good ideas for song synchronization programs like the now-discontinued Synchtube? Google Hangouts is one idea floating around. 

On a personal note, does anyone have any tips for singers? I know I sing off key, and can't hit higher notes, and am currently just practicing slowly hitting the higher ones.

It's not as bad as I thought it would be! Though anyone who's got perfect pitch would probably find the entire thing painful. Haven't listened to it much though, will do more later. I don't think any of us were capable of singing through sub-standard microphones on a not-so-quality internet. I gotta say, something about being on a mic really messes up my conversation skills. I keep on speaking before I know what I want to say, which makes me sound silly. Luckily we were all being rather silly.

For anyone who might not know, the dings are Teamspeak giving a notification for a new chat message.

Anyways, I doubt that the next one will go on for quite such a completely-ridiculously long time, but I might be mistaken. Either way anyone who wasn't at the first one is still welcome to join in for much less than the full whatever hours if they prefer.
