 Bah, jamming is for real-life. Nobody actually wants to know that guns are finicky and giant attention whores that require more of my time than any girlfriend I've ever had.

Of course, it doesn't help that the guns in the game (and the guns that all of us have, do, or will be using in real life) are generally M16 family variants, which have a well-deserved reputation of being rather finicky tack-drivers, as opposed to the AK's rock-solid bullet-hose

Keep an M-16 family rifle clean and it'll consistently hit at 300 meters. Don't keep them clean and lose half your rounds to jams. And for the love of God do NOT fire a blank unless you absolutely have to. Fifty rounds of live ammo is nothing compared to five blank cartridges.
