So yeah, this. Frankly... I have no idea what to think of it, except for maybe this. I'm gonna watch EG anyway, because curiosity, but this sounds like a pretty far fetched and forced way to link it with FiM, I would've prefered if the two stayed separate (as much as that'd be possible). It also raises question, when in the show's timeline it's gonna be set?

I'm not going to judge anything until it comes out, but so far I don't have very high hopes of it. The premise seems shallow and the character design is god awful. It's like an ungodly halfway point between ponies and anthro. It just doesn't look right to me.

I hope it's just a simple money grab that doesn't impact the show at all.

All in all, I think it has potential not to be bad... If they avoid certain stereotypical stuff which one youtube comment sums up (some of it) quite nicely:
1) High school drama.
2) Twilight falling head over heels for some guy.
3) (If Twilight really does have a love interest) One of the main 6 liking him as well, which I guess can fall under high school drama as well.
4) Teen stereotypes.

That's my verdict for now, we'll see after the movie.

EDIT: I'm also kinda skeptic about the statement by Hasbro about EG:
“We are responding to the desire by our fans to experience the brand in more ways,” said John A. Frascotti, Hasbro’s chief marketing officer. “They imagined themselves as which pony they would be or which pony they identified with the most.”

I think that vast majority of fans can say (In Adam Jensen's voice) "I never asked for this.". And we can safely assume that these "fans" are the minority, aka the actual target audience.

I honestly don't know what to think of if.
The character designs were the thing that pissed me off the most at first (when they had wings, pony ears, and ponytail... tails), but these honestly don't seem so bad.
I don't love it, but I also don't hate it.

So, I don't know what think of this, but I have a bit more confidence that this will be done well than I originally did.

Still not going to pay to watch it though.

I'll reserve judgement until I see it, and I'm probably not going to see it until it shows up on TV one day, or somewhere online.

If they're really serious about it coming to theaters and shows up in one near by I'll probably try to drag some friends to make fun of it at the dollar theater since it usually plays movies after the bigger theaters finish showing them.

Well, if anyone's interested, the reviews are here. Apparently the movie indeed isn't "absolutely terrible" as almost everyone predicted. Why doesn't it surprise me?

I saw it ages ago. The biggest problem with it is that it falls into the trope called "idiot plot". I give the movie a 7 out of 10, cause the who conflict in the movie revolves around hitting everyone with the idiot stick over and over until the conflict is finally resolved.

I didn't like it cause of how many times twilight was acting like a idiot was painful, but it wasn't that bad of a movie.

If twilight didn't act like a idiot then the movie would have never happened cause she would have known better than to wear the most powerful item in their world as her bling.
