Clockwork: The Mojave Wasteland

Author note: This is going to be the journal of my OC Clockwork Apparatus that she's keeping during her adventures in the Mojave Wasteland.

Dear Journal,
Today, I didn't die. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing at this point. The last thing I remember was this asshole in a cheesy looking suit telling me about an '18 karat run of bad luck'.

Then he shot me.

In the head.

...

The next thing I did was wake up (much to my surprise) in a clinic.

I was scared at first, and not because I was still alive, but because my doctor wasn't a pony.

His name is Doc Mitchel, and I don't know what he is. He's not a pony, that's for damned sure. And... neither am I. Whatever he is, I am too.

It's weird, having to walk on two legs. It feels... unnatural. And I don't have my grey coat anymore, I have to wear clothes. I still have my mane though, it's the same color, and done up in the same bun.

It's all just so... weird.

I didn't say anything about it, I don't need my one friend thinking I'm crazy.

Doc Mitchel is a nice guy. Before he sent me off he gave me some clothes, supplies, and a pipbuck (he called it a pipboy) which is what I'm recording on. He told me to go see someone called Sunny Smiles. I think I'll go look for her, she must be somewhere in town.

Dear Journal,

I found Sunny in the Saloon. I think she's one of the guards here, because she's wearing leather armor. She's pretty nice, and very helpful (She taught me to shoot a gun without magic!). She has a dog named Cheyenne too, she's really cute (the dog looks pretty good too, very healthy).

She took me around back behind the saloon and taught me to shoot. She's a good teacher. She gave me an old varmint rifle and took me out to hunt geckos (to make sure I could handle myself I guess.) I opted to use the shotgun the Doc gave me instead. You don't need to be good at shooting to use a shotgun.

We did pretty well. Killed four geckos and saved a settler! Afterwards she, the settler, thanked me. I felt good...

After that Sunny taught me how to make some healing powder (tastes like nasty balls and makes my head swim, but it does the job).

(Note to self, Broc Flower and Xander Root mixed together make healing powder. Good stuff if I run of of stimpaks.)

We, me and Sunny, walked back to town together.

I went to see Trudy, Sunny called her 'the town mom', and when I found her in the Saloon she was talking to some guy with dark skin. He threatened her, told her to hand over some guy named 'Ringo', and told her that if she didn't he and his friends would burn down the town.

Everything might be different now, but I know a bandit when I see one.

Dear Journal,

Me and Trudy got to talking. I got all sorts of information from her.

The man threatening her was Cobb. A bandit with the Powder Gangers, who are a bunch of convicts from the local prison who got their hands on explosives and broke out. He's looking for Ringo, a guy from a caravan he attacked and failed to kill.

I'm not going to let Cobb take him. He wants a fight, he can fucking have one!

I'm gonna go around town and ask for help.

First things first I needed to switch to some better armor.

The Doc gave a few to choose from. More than I'll probably ever wear. I picked one that had a bunch of metal armor plating, but was still pretty light.

I looked at myself in the miror and immediately started blushing. I think some sort of perv designed it. The undersuit is skintight and shows off my... chest teat things like I'm some sort of prostitute. I wanted to change out of it, but my pipboy said it protected me better than all the other clothes the Doc gave me. I guess I'll just have to put up with being oogled at.

I stepped out and asked Trudy if she had any work she needed done (only some of the men at the bar leered at me). She told me that some of the guys who shot me broke her radio. I offered to fix it. While I was she told me where the guys who shot me were going. Some place to the south called 'Primm' I think.

Trudy paid me for fixing her radio and pointed me in the direction of Ringo.
