Oh my gosh, oh my gosh... They actually used epic music in a pony promo/trailer...
Ehm... Well, dat 3D crocodile... Still looks awkward and kinda out of place. A bit less than the timberwolves did, but that may be because of the fast-paced shots in the trailer, it could still be as awkward as the timberwolves in the actual episode.
If I'm not mistaken that was Discord's first turning to stone considering his posture. Wonder if they're actually gonna show it, I'd prefer if they saved his history with the sisters for a separate episode.
Other than that there wasn't much of anything new. My general impression still remains positive. We'll see if that's gonna last after the next Saturday.

This kind of attitude is one of the reasons why Rarity was my least favourite of the mane 6 (until her character was fleshed out more in S2). Read one fanfiction where Rarity reasoned with Luna why she will address her by her formal title even if perhaps Luna herself does not wish so. Though her reasoning made some sense logically, on personal level it frustrated the hell out of me. So, yeah, I know it's one of her defining behavior traits, but I still don't like it. I'm with Twilight on this one.
Regular Fluttershy action, nothing to add here.

Is it a musical episode? I can't say I downright disliked MMC's. I disliked the pacing and the character development in the second part that focused on Twi becoming an alicorn. If the pacing got dramatically improved, meaning if it had been two episodes that focused on their proper plot instead of one, it would've been much better overall. And of course if they would hold off Twilight's ascension until the last episode of the show or something. Though I was hoping they'd at least resolve/explain/justify it all in the two-parter.
Whatever, these things are way too subjective and even people who disliked MMC could like the two-parter, let's wait and see.
