And therein lies the heart of the issue--artistic license. Every sci-fi franchise under the sun applies their neat-o tech and alien races to what modern audiences can understand--firearm-based modern warfare. It might be true that in 500 years we're all computer programs on a subspace-based computer and we wage wars by digistructing entire planetoids to throw at each other, but that's alien and unrelatable to us compared to, say, a particularly shiny gun.

That has to be one of the best lines in the game. In a world populated by people swinging axes and screaming about ending you for Talos, that subtly-creepy bunch of folks waiting in the shadows has to be some of the most interesting, especially when you get away from the "hired assassins" aspect and into the "Void-god-worshipping death cult" aspect.

Despite the title, I don't see how this was supposed to represent a "real" war.
More just "What if the ponies visited humanity's universe and insisted the humans fight them, after which the humans slaughter them to the very last."

I mean, realistically, yeah, an actual human military would curb-stomp a pony army. But, then, realistically, we could have flattened Iraq, razed Afghanistan, and burned Vietnam to the fucking ground. There are reasons we don't go all-out against pretty much anyone.

And ordinarily, I'd agree with you. The reason why I have a problem with it is because the lore constantly and repeatedly stresses the nature of human innovation as the primary difference between them and the Covenant. Every time they're compared, they bring up the fact that the Covenant only repurposes preexisting tech as opposed to creating it.

It's a really common thing to say, but it's hard not to repeat. When WoW is done and overwith Blizz should really consider taking some of that money and talent they have and make a full length movie. I'd watch the shit out of it.

Editing 600+ creature entries manually isn't very fun, not even in the Dwarf Fortrss meaning of it. But I've almost edited them all.
