S4 Episode 6 - Power Ponies

Alright, new episode is out, and it's raises a few rather interesting question.

Okay okay okay... Enchanted Comics. With all the magic flying around anyways I can accept that there are stories that you can get sucked into and it wouldn't be hard to apply said spell to comics, but good lord there's no way those can be cheap can they?

And we have a villain who's backstory is shared with quite a few from DC, and a power set from previous Lauren Faust worked on series PowerPuff Girls, a team of hero's that's a mix of DC and Marvel, and named after Power Rangers. I see no problem with that.

Props to a somewhat cleaver villain/ henchman though. "The spray only last so long, so just set this timer and spray them again when it goes off." That got me to laugh a few times.

I've seen this story somewhere...I know I have...even with that writing Spike read to get sucked into the book...where the fuck...I'm gonna lose my mind if I don't figure this out.

Oh god I've ruined my childhood cause my mind went to The Pagemaster.

But yeah, like I said the team seemed to be a mix of DC and Marvel characters, or at least that's what it seemed to me.

Rainbow Dash was Thor.
Fluttershy was The Hulk.
Rarity was Green Lantern. Or any Lantern actually since there's a full spectrum of them.
Pinkie Pie was The Flash. I guess you could say Quicksilver as well but he's too angry a character for Pinkie to be him.
Applejack had bits of Wonder Woman and Batman for me. Horseshoe hoofcuffs mainly, the lasso is too obvious.

Only one I can't place properly is Twilight.

Actually AJ was more of a mix between Wonder Woman and Captain America, at least personality wise, you know, things like leading the charge and shouting the team catchphrase. Rainbow Dash could have also have been Storm as well.

I liked the episode pretty well. Watched it with my sister, and it was funny. She commented, aptly, that it was nice to see a Spike episode that wasn't about Spike being stupid and/or a jerk.

The closest I can think of is Marvel's "Mandarin".
He was reinvented for the Iron Man 3 movie, but he was originally a villain with a magical ring on each finger and thumb, each capable of a different kind of beam.

I would agree, but I severely doubt they would make Twi a reference to a supervillain.
