Amidst all of the cheers, the band turned to each other, nodding in their agreement. Turning back around, they softly started their next song, quieting the crowd.

When the days become as dark as night

As the song faded, the crowd cheered, and the singer spoke.

"Thank you! Thank you all! Feel free to go take a break, get some food and drink, then head on back. The masters of metal...an inspiration to us all is next!" And with that, he and the rest of the band bowed, then moved off of the stage.

"Wow..not what I'd expected to see or hear at arena. And to be honest I've heard this kind of music for the first time."

As the crowd moved to take a short break, several older stallions gathered on the stage, meeting with the previous band as several large stallions moved different equipment out.

As the older stallions readied their instruments, the crowd moved back to their seats. Slowly the sound of a storm began to filter through the speakers, as well as the chime of a bell. And then they began.

What is this that stands before me?
Figure in black which points at me
Turn around quick and start to run
Find out I'm the chosen one, oh nooo!

Big black shape with eyes of fire
Telling ponies their desire
Sithis' sitting there, he's smiling
Watches those flames get higher and higher
Oh no, no, please gods help me!

Sithis' coming 'round the bend
Ponies running 'cause they're scared
The ponies better go and beware!
No, no, please, no!

And as the singer's mournful voice faded away, the crowd erupted in cheer. The band took a bow, all of them leaving the stage to be replaced by a rather intimidating mare in full bonemold armor.

"I would like to thank our guests for the rousing performance. The likes of which is seldom heard in this province. But that's not what you all came here for, now is it?"

The crowd roared in response, ready for the action to begin.

"Good...because here he is! The Grand Champion!" the mare shouted, and a light poured down into the arena floor, illuminating a lone pony, fully clad in heavy ebony plate-mail, a rather large and intimidating black blade on his back.
