It's good, but has its flaws for one reason or another. I use it as inspiration for my work.

Thankfully though, it does let us ignore HIS fluff. No matter how infuriating it is.

1d4chan's artical on GW and canon:
- Spoiler:
- Games Workshop's official stance is that all of the fluff is told by an unreliable narrator, and is therefore true and false at the same time. This is so they can sell you multiple stories and products without having to wade through 25 years worth of bullshit. This frustrates and annoys fa/tg/uys, who pull a fit every time their comic book collection gets even slightly out of order.
However, it's pretty common practice in most large franchises. This stance actually allows individuals to have their own 'personal canon', but of course, people don't see it that way and instead want their galaxy sweeping, massively scaled space opera to be detailed right down to how many pubic hairs Roboute Guilliman has.
Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 have continuity and consistency, but nothing can be truly described as canon, as the powers that be never set anything in stone. Or to put it another way, Space Marines look a certain way and behave along certain guidelines, but exact details change depending on who is telling the story. On the other hand, some authors have truly taken the piss with this policy, such as Captain C.S. MULTI-LAZOR.

perfectly legit, though the Mechanicum would hunt you down for possessing such a relic from the Dark age of Technology (despite being more advanced) to take what is rightfully 'theirs'. Unless it's xeno tech, if so, HERESY!Admiral Stoic Rum wrote:fine i get a character with a sonic screwdriver ...

hard for them to do that one of the 500+ settings for biologicals can sonic their brains to goo... or then make their tech fall to pieces... or lock their armor into place... the right frequency can make eardrums rupture or even trigger an aneurism. Not to mention how effective it is with mechanical crap and as a scanner... I mean what good is a ship that can fly through a planet when its reactor core is shut down...big ships tho... but derelict... mine will have a wood setting and a red setting and dampers...
contemplate this, it can scan and lock on to the Orks psionic WAAAAG frequency and then jam it.

They also have quite limited range. You never see him firing the screwdriver at ships in orbit, and in 40K every other battlegroup can scour planets clean of life

that is true, but the planet would first have to have a significant need for sterilization and such a relic like the sonic would have dire consequences in terms of political ramifications were it to be destroyed. so depending on prior knowledge it would determine should the planet need to be scoured or not. although i ddo recall in silence of the library the 10th's sonic able to get some kind of reading off the moon, only there was something jamming the sonic from getting a clean signal witch river said "use the dampers" so, it may have short range effect but apparently the more passive effects can be used to reach lunar orbit...
apparently the sonic is advanced gallifreyan tech so it would be Xeno tech, however, since humans are timelord like who is to say they aren't just pursuing the time lords?

Single chaos artifact on a planet? EXTERMINATUS!Admiral Stoic Rum wrote:Mister Frost wrote:They also have quite limited range. You never see him firing the screwdriver at ships in orbit, and in 40K every other battlegroup can scour planets clean of life

But really, Exterminatus is a weapon of last resort/extreme measure, like when daemons are about to take over a planet, same with Tyranids, or when a situation needs to be handled quickly and regular measures won't work, like when thirteen chaos titans were discovered on one planet, and there was evidence of agents of chaos nearby
Wait, since when was the Sonic screwdriver a political concern? Besides, a Inquisitor (single agents with near limitless power within the Imperium dedicated to rooting out chaos and xeno threats) are the only ones who could call in an Exterminatus and they wouldn't care what the mechanicus would have to say if it posed enough of a threat to the Imperium.

Let alone that there have been various sonic technologies developed leading up to humanity in the stars, not like one would know if it were human tech or not, i mean a glance at the doctor or an image of the doctor and you'd think, human, must be human device...

True, but if it isn't an STC then the Mechanicus would just study it, then either archive or destroy it, it's not like they'd let something so strange go unstudied, and if they find it doesn't line up with any present STC or of obvious Imperial origin, then it's tech-heresy. Also you say that they would immediately assume he's human, I'm pretty sure a Mechanicus Adept has some kind of way of telling if a person has multiple hearts from a couple feet away. If it wasn't a Adept then they would have him recite some prayer, and if he got a single word wrong it would give them an excuse to investigate further, especially if they're already suspicious of his species, not to mention if they had any suspicions they would simply arrest him or execute him.Admiral Stoic Rum wrote:Let alone that there have been various sonic technologies developed leading up to humanity in the stars, not like one would know if it were human tech or not, i mean a glance at the doctor or an image of the doctor and you'd think, human, must be human device...

While going to work just after eating lunch, I saw an old man looking to be in his mid-sixties, collapsed on a bench next to the supermarket's parking lot, unmoving.
Worried that he might be slightly deceased, I went up to him, and asked if he was okay.
The guy shot up, looking straight at me, drool dripping from his mouth.
"S'okay ! Er'thing is good ! There's no problem !"
That's when I saw that there was an open brick of cheap red wine right next to him on the bench.
And he kept repeating that "there's no problem, there's no problem"
Seeing he was alive and I'm not a model citizen, I acknowledged him, told him to have a good day, and went my way.
"there's no problem"
I am not quite convinced...

There was this particular Rammstein concert that I went to.
Suddenly, it turned out that they brought Deathstars as the warmup band.
Two favorite bands in one concert.

- lyrics:
- An old man by a seashore
At the end of day
Gazes the horizon
With seawinds in his face
Tempest-tossed island
Seasons all the same
Anchorage unpainted
And a ship without a name
Sea without a shore for the banished one unheard
He lightens the beacon, light at the end of world
Showing the way lighting hope in their hearts
The ones on their travels homeward from afar
This is for long-forgotten
Light at the end of the world
Horizon crying
The tears he left behind long ago
The albatross is flying
Making him daydream
The time before he became
One of the world's unseen
Princess in the tower
Children in the fields
Life gave him it all:
An island of the universe
Now his love's a memory
A ghost in the fog
He sets the sails one last time
Saying farewell to the world
Anchor to the water
Seabed far below
Grass still in his feet
And a smile beneath his brow
This is for long-forgotten
Light at the end of the world
Horizon crying
The tears he left behind long ago
This is for long-forgotten
Light at the end of the world
Horizon crying
The tears he left behind so long ago

Re: [Official!] Project Horizons Comment Crew Chat thread.
...So, I just learned how retarded I've been in thinking getting to Mun is hard.
I just did it in a single burn, first try and without mechjeb.
I still used Protractor, but in actuality, I didn't even need that. It was nice to have a rough guide on how much time I should base my burn off, but my second guess for when to burn worked perfectly.
Sent me straight on a collision course with Mun and of course, that's EXACTLY what I wanted because I was actually making a Mun lander base! So yeah, all in all I actually had a hell of a lot of fuel from the trip left around, had to ditch my second stage thrusters while they still had fuel to both find out height (night side of moon) and because landing with them would've killed me.
So yeah... damn that's easy.

Simply wait for Mun to be just above the horizon while in low-orbit to start your burn, and stop it when your ship's orbit's perihelion reaches Mun's orbit.
Don't forget to align orbital planes before doing your burn, though. The results could be... sub-optimal.

I relied entirely upon prograde thrust and some normalisation to get me on my collision course and that worked perfectly.
Seriously, the only issue I had the whole time was that I tried to realign my ship once I landed and almost flipped over... thrice.
but in the end I got the solar panels to face the sun nicely so nothing to complain about.

Testing new mod data.
My ponies have fixed ethic tags (had these since the beginning). That allows them to butcher the dead invaders, eat their flesh and make pretty totems out of their skulls.
But... these tags somehow still don't allow them to do the same things with the sapient tame animals. Like the fluffies.
Have to remove the sapience tag from the fluffies.
Crap.

Can't you, I dunno, tag the fluffies as "semi-sapient" or something ?

[edit] There's only two tags that give sapience: [INTELLIGENT] and [SLOW_LEARNER]. The second one (which I used) is similar to the first in every way, except that the creature's experience gain is halved.
