I am genuinely surprised a thread for this didn't already exist.
Anyways, who else is psyched for the season 3 premiere tonight? It should be awesome.
And of course, if anyone wishes to discuss the books here, make sure to keep it spoilered so it isn't given away for those who have just been watching the show.

Well, that was pretty good. I had been waiting for the conversation between Tyrion and his father, so I was glad that happened this episode.
I can't believe they skipped the battle on the Fist of the First Men though! All they had was a black screen and the sounds of clashing swords! That was lame. They had even set everything up for it at the end of last season. The only reason I can think of for them skipping it is budget issues, which would suck. Time-wise, I'm sure they could have fit it in. It would have been an awesome way to start the season!
The Unsullied had different attire then they had in the book but that isn't really a big deal. I guess they just wanted to make them look cooler. The reason why I even bothered to bring it up is because there were a pair of guards in season one belonging to Illyrio Mopatis that were dressed just like the unsullied were described in the books. Of course, they weren't mentioned as being Unsullied, or referred to at all actually, meaning the possibility was still open for them to change the look of the Unsullied if they wanted to.

- Strong Belwas didn't appear with Barristan Selmy. He also wasn't in the casting list for this season. It would be a shame if they cut him, since he was a pretty awesome/funny character in the book, but it is true that he isn't very important. Eh, oh well.

- If I remember correctly, Selmy isn't full recognized until a good while after Dany first meets him. And I do hope Strong Belwas comes in, him and Selmy made a good pair.
Additionally, it's been a while since I've read, but Sam hasn't stabbed the White Walker yet, has he?

- Yeah, it was a while before he was fully revealed in the books, but they just decided to outright state who he was in the show to save time I guess? That and the fact people would have recognized his actor even if he did have a better disguise.
