Congrats? It's boring! I barely get new knowledge. It's been only 2 weeks, true, but it sucks. I keep going to my boss and ask for some work, but he only gives me documents to read.
Remember, Guard. Work w/o actually working good only firs few week/month (depending on person), after that you slowly start going crazy.

Yeah...salary suck too, btw. Been government worker isn't something profitable..*sigh* My mentor told me to work here for year or little more and then seek something else.

Um..my main work will be supporting and maintaining anti-virus protection, maybe firewalls, Active directory aka Domains..maybe mail servers. I'm IT tech, not some secretary...no offence to anyone.

It is always a good idea to look for a job while you still have one. Makes it easier to get hired.

I've been w/o job for more than a year and a half and I was actively searching for one in my sector. Guess what, everyone needs young (28 years tops) with at least 5 year of experience and be able to do the job in 3 different IT directions in same time. I couldn't get any of that work.

I am aware Katarn. They want experience, but usually aren't willing to risk giving you a try. I know it sounds like BS, but they are spending money to train people, and they want to get the most money out of them as possible.

Well ,that's the point why I'm working for government now: experience plus knowledge. Salary really suck. For example pack of chips Lays Strong cost 16 hrivnas, which will be ~2$ For my salary (~1300 hrivnas) I can get ~81 pack of chips. Which will be ~162$ And guess what. Everyone get same salary there. You get slightly more, if you are working there for longer. Also if you have higher rank (not military. More like Specialist, main specialist, etc.)

That was yesterday around 2:00pm central time. Actually I am fighting off my frustration with my roommate/mother shes smoking smoked in the garage last night so now it reeks and I bought her an ecig for xmas just so she wouldn't have to worry about smelly smoke smells. I'm not happy about that, and its been her rage after rage after rage... its stressful in my home right now
