She walks over to Iffin and takes the radio from her. After giving it a quick inspection she's surprised to find that it somehow escaped the ocean. "Huh? Well as long as there isn't too much sand in..." She fiddles with one of the buttons and a static sound emits from it.

"It works."

Shale trotted across the beach and started pulling pieces as big as she could into a small pile, hoping it was all usable.

Continues to examine the radio. "Yeah, but this is old... well it's an older model. It's not going to contact Equestria like that other one you had. They'd have to be much closer."

She hands it back Iffin. "Maybe if we get lucky and spot a ship we could use it."

Goes back to trotting down the beach adding a few pieces to Shayle's pile.

Goes to grab another piece but pulls back and hisses a little. She prods her lip trying to get the splinter out when she hears Shayle. "Sure, I got a few minutes."

She tries to think of some thing, but nothing comes. "You're talking about Buck right?" She sits down near Shayle so she could hear her if she whispered, but not so close that she might make the mare uncomfortable. "How do you feel about him right now?"

She looks over at Sak's. "I didn't always love her... I always cared about her sure, but I didn't really feel like I loved her until mom died."

She looked at Shayle. "I can't say one day you will love him, I don't think anyone just starts out loving somebody. Well except for pa-" She shakes her head. "I'm sorry Shayle."

"Anyway what I was saying is you might love him if you give it a chance.

She looks conflicted unsure if she should tell Shayle this or not. "And I know he cares about you. Back at the palace he was worried he wasn't as good a coltfriend as he could be." She smiled. "He wanted to be better for you."

Her face scrunched as she searched for a way to explain what she was saying. "Well you know you don't love him now right? I bet you'll know when that changes. And there are different kinds of love... Like my mom I loved her but definitely not in the same way I love Saks. Does that make sense?"
