Moodstone makes his way to office where he got the job at. As he walks in an old earth pony looks up and smiles.

"Well lookit here! Ya made it back alive! And in relatively one piece! "

"I had some help. Some good friends to watch my back."

"Well ain't that nice now, but I hope you're not expecting me to pay them as well. Job were for you and you alone."
With the the pony puts a bag of caps on the desk which Moodstone floats to his pack.
"So tell me. How'd ya do it?

"Explosives. You did say all I had to do was seal it, not to try to kill them all."

With that the earth pony burst into laughter.
"By Celestia I didn't think you'd do that. Most ponies I've hired for jobs like this think they're the next Sable Mare or Security and try to kill them all. Not all of them make it back. Guess you're smarter then them eh?"

Moodstone doesn't answer, just gives a mumbled "thanks for the caps" and leaves.

Heh, good. He takes a drink and begins eating, stopping occasionally to take in the scene.

She smiles, and accepts the hug, "I guess you don't need your mommy anymore."

((I feel horrible for Neon after this, I really do...but I don't want to throw out Felix's worries from throughout the day and his character just to see some joy.))

A brief frown flickered on Felix's muzzle as he looked back to Neon. He so badly wanted to tell the pegasus how he felt, and to be with him. But doubt crept through his mind, unsure what would happen if he did. Maybe he would feel the same, and want to be with the zebra, or maybe he would only choose to be with Felix because he wanted someone to be with, and not because he actually felt the same about the colt.
That thought was almost worse to him than if Neon just turned him down, unable to see the zebra as anything more than a friend.
"They...maybe I'll introduce you later, once you've calmed down from what happened with Sakura," the zebra said regrettably, forcing himself not to cry, and hoping Neon would understand.

*Keeps the hug for a while, then breaks it* Please tell me this means you'll at least stop trying to kill my husband?

Azure smiles then remembers what Isaac told her
"Hey, Risky, what time do ya need to be at work tomorrow?"

Sighs, "One time and you won't let me live it down. I promise."

Neon looks down, sadly, "You're just making it up, to make me feel better." He smiles, "Thanks for the thought, though. You're such a good guy, Felix." He hugs him, "Can I still stay over tonight? I already have everything packed up and ready to go."

"Same time as today. Why, is something going on?" He looks at Azure with concern.

"Alright, I'm going to grab my stuff. I'll be back in a few."

Azure shakes her head
"No, Isaac just wanted to give some kind of meetin' in the old warehouse tomorrow mornin' and wanted me to get as many of our friends as possible and since I have to go I was wonderin' if ya wanted to come with me?"

Once the pegasus was gone, Felix collapsed to his belly and began sobbing quietly. He knew he'd done the smart thing, and that he might still be able to call Neon his coltfriend at some point in the future, but that thought didn't make it hurt him any less.
It was the smart thing, but he was starting to doubt if it was the right thing for him.
After a few minutes, the sudden squeal of the door opening pulled the zebra back to his hooves, and he quickly wiped away the tears from his eyes and cheeks.


Shayle slammed the door behind her, unease and anger still filling her body at what had happened with the new pony, Ranger. She quickly looked around the room, and saw Felix looking slightly shaken.
"Something wrong?" she asked sternly, but still with care.


"Yeah," Felix replied with a down tone. "I'm just having some problems with the mines," he lied to her, keeping his eyes on the laid out explosives to hide the redness.


Shayle nodded to him briefly and trotted feverishly to her room, once again slamming the door behind her.


Once she was gone, Felix followed to his own room, closing the door quietly and curling onto his mattress. He no longer sobbed, not wishing to look like a mess if Shayle came in or when Neon returned for the night, but he still felt empty inside.
