"You know...when it was just me and you, and security detail..." She chuckles and nudges Flame. "...and the occasional customer."
"Yeah, those were the days. Maybe if I'm lucky after the town's founded, we'll finally be able to settle down. Feels like I've been fighting and killing and running my whole life."
"Don't worry about it. I'm sure everything will be fine. Now try get some sleep, silly."
Always the optimist. Everything will be fine. I wouldn't count on it.

Flame and Judgement walk to the rest of the group, evidently still tired. "Geez, you guys don't like sleeping in, do ya?"

- 1 year after the founding of the town...
A silhouette of a familiar pegasus glides across the sky towards the town, an ethereal trail left behind. Flame and Judgement, who are patrolling the town walls, spot him from a distance.
“Is that...Aces? What could he want?”
”I dunno. But I have the feeling it ain’t good.”
”Legion? You’re needed.”
“Sorry. Sorta got a town to protect. Go find someone else.”
”No can do. The general asked for YOU personally. And YOU know how impatient he is. And YOU know he gets what he wants.” Aces prods Flame with a hoof.
“Well...tell him to go fuck himself. I ain’t going and that’s that.” Flame begins walking away.
Judgement shrugs. “You heard the guy. He’s made his choice.”
”I’m afraid it’s not his choice to make.” In the blink of an eye, Aces takes flight, grabs Flame, and flies upward and away.
“HEY! Let me go, you mothe--” Flame starts drawing his weapons.
”Kill me, and you will fall to your death.”
Flame ceases struggling, and sighs. “You’re a fucking asshole.” He looks sorrowfully back at the town as it fades into the distance.
They are both long gone before Judgement can even react. ”NO! FLAME! If I ever see Aces again, I’ll fucking...UGH.” She starts crying, and walks back to their house. “I didn’t even get the chance to tell him. It was gonna be a surprise.”
Flame and Judgement walk to the rest of the group, evidently still tired. "Geez, you guys don't like sleeping in, do ya?"
