Ok, revive this tread, with this idea (which I'm making into a story at some point). say ponies either come into our world, or are made, or otherwise exist, magic and flight and awesomeness and all. only they are mini, a few inches tall, could fit in a shirt pocket. they are just like in the show, and yes, they are fully sentient and can talk.

Pocket pony would be either Twilight or Vinyl Scratch. Twilight could sit next to a pocket dictionary and she would be amazed at books larger than her, and Vinyl Scratch could use my tablet as a DJ station.

Alright...this is actually a pretty tough one for me to pick, so I'll just list out my favorites and reasoning for each choice.
And that's all I can think of right now....

Lyra: Always loved this pony to death. Seeing all the random things she's doing in the show makes me think she'd be a little ball of joy and fun, who could make even the most boring situation awesome. Seems like she'd be awesome to play with and if I had to leave her alone for some reason she could entertain herself pretty easily.
Luna: Always been my favorite princess, and she's adorable (even in Luna Eclipsed, just in a different way). Plus, she would probably be completely fine with staying up late at night, which would be really good for a night owl like myself.
Twilight: Completely adorkable, and generally a very happy pony. I don't have any friends that really read much besides me, so it would be awesome to have someone there that loved it as much as I do. It would be great to read with her each night, and I wouldn't mind helping her out with larger books at all.
Rainbow: A ball of pure energy and excitement; we would have quite a bit of fun together. I'm much the same way she is, in that I get really bored really fast if I have nothing to do. So it would probably be easy for the two of us to find stuff to entertain ourselves.
Rarity: Okay, she would probably HATE my style choices (t-shirt and jeans, all year, regardless of weather), but she's a sweetheart. She would happily accept any compliments or gifts you give her, and gladly return them no matter how much you tried to assure her she didn't have to. And my mom would love her to death as well (mom's a seamstress), and I'm sure she would happily share fabric so Rarity could make outfits. On a less serious note: I shall brushie u mane 100 strokes evry mornin.
Fluttershy: Aside from being adorable 100% of the time, she seems like the pony that no matter how much love you showed her, she would return it and more. She would be fantastic with animals, and love to see them, so birds or hamsters would be amazing with her (I hesitate to say dog, because I'm not sure how they would react to her, especially some of the larger breeds). Plus, I have a mental image of her curled up on my chest snoozing away as I lay on the couch :3
Vinyl: That mane is awesome, those shades are awesome, and she loves music! I listen to music pretty much all day, regardless of where I am (with a few exceptions) and I'm sure Vinyl would have no problem listening along. I would try to find a way to get a mini-turntable, but that would be difficult for a technologically-inept person like myself. Less serious note: hope to god she actually does like spinning on a record like that because I have a player in my house, and I would probably die from happiness if that actually became real.
And that's all I can think of right now....
