I've had an idea several months ago...
Somewhat influenced by Pannic's (not extremely favourable) review of the original FoE. At one point, he made some comparisons to Spec Ops: The Line.
So, I though about an alternative ending to FoE, based on SO:TL. I took the idea to Brisineo; he loved it, and offered to make something big based on it.

Ah, okay. I'd much prefer DA links, personally; to view that one properly, I ended up dragging the image from the forum to my desktop and opening it with Preview.

Oh. I've heard about the game and it's twist and such, but you don't think that that's enough? Are these comics based much more heavily on the game than on FoE?

Well... kind of? I've asked to have all the SO:TL endings adapted for FoE.

Hm, I suppose that I might want to look into those, then. I do feel like I'm missing part of the story. I've been trying to interpret these as at least mostly canon-compatible with FoE.

Well, that's cetainly possible! All it needs is to have Lil'Pip be just a little more unhinged, Celestia be just a little more dead, and Spike be just dead.

If Spike's dead, though, what about the other people who saw him? And how did LittlePip get into the SPP hub in the first place?

-You probably could write around other people seeing Spike. I think. And the green fires in Panel 1 could just be another hallucination.
-Well, if Celestia is completely dead, there's nothing to power the super-shield.

I assume that what LittlePip did there also makes more sense if one is more familiar with the game?

Yes. I'd highly recommend playing Spec Ops: The Line. Even though it's mediocre chest-high-walls-infested TPS. It's brilliant storytelling and seeing war NOT from perspective of your usual shooter hero is good experience..srysly though. That game made me change my worldview a little bit, after I've played it few years ago.

Well, I might try it someday if I find a good wrapper. I don't think that it's especially likely, though; sorry. I might find a Let's Play of it instead, though; that's likely much more feasible, but I still don't know when I might get to it.

Huh.  Actually, it looks like Steam has a Mac version.  How does lending through Steam work?  I still don't know if I'll take you up on the offer (among other things, I assume that the game loses a lot of impact when one already knows the twist), but thank you for making it.
I really ought to be getting to bed now, though; my alarm goes off in just over either hours, and I want to be well-rested for this week's meeting of my RPG group.
