Horrible OC names & concepts

So, apparently making Original Characters of all kind is a big Thing (with a capital tea) in this fandom, or at least on this site, what with all the various RP.

Things is, not all OCs are good in concept. To be quite honest, quite a number could be said to be shitty.

What I propose with this thread, is to deliberately create terrible OC names or concept, for fun. Let's see how far we can can go.

Bad taste, political incorrectness (in the limit of this site's rules), dark humor : let's have fun !

So, I'll start it.

I had this expression in mind : "stranger danger".

So I thought : if we had a character named "Stranger Danger", how could we push the concept behind the name ?

While I try to come up with something able to make angel weep, I'll let you give your own ideas.

A male unicorn named "Watch List".

He's on every government watchlist there is, and for very good reason. His cutie mark is a Police Report, his face is always locked with a massive smile and wide eyes, and his special talent is felony offences.

He's got a red mane, black coat and red wings. I mean, who the hell does that kind've colour scheme? They must have been off their nut when designing something like that.

Aside from that, in the story where he's the protagonist, he's told to go round some nearby villages and it takes him two days to do it because he's too busy fucking mares! Lazy bastard.

Funniest thing is, it's all true.
Red mane / black coat is bad enough, I didn't really consider the whole red/black cliche or universal hate towards the mix because how common it is, I like the combo myself - but after it was brought up once, I noticed it in other OC characters that usually had no thought put into them.

Admittedly there was some thought put into the red/black scheme - the original list of names I wrote down started at Cherry Sundae (which I then used for the female, because I thought it was too girlie a name) went onto 'red wings' and decided that was too childish and close to Redeye and then got to Crimson Wings.
I wanted him to have red wings because I liked the idea.

When it came to his coat, the two colours I had come to mind was either ivory white or charcoal/black - and I felt that ivory white would look far too much like Blackjack in a way. Besides, black allows me to add in a perk where he gains stealth points at night (which has been added) due to his natural colour.


...As well as that, I actually was off my fucking nut on painkillers because I had just come out from an operation when I finished up my planning for him.
So yeah, I was flying high as a kite.


As for the lazy bastard thing, I was in the FOE threads over on 4chan - /mlp/ and one person said they were reading my story because I'd mentioned it and one of the things they had to say was that they liked the four villages setting and how they found it highly amusing that it takes him two days to pass on a simple message because he's too busy getting laid.

I laughed, another anon laughed, good times were had.

Don't worry so much about it. I'm planning on a rewrite some time soon anyway.
My plan is to get this latest chapter out, which I'm 60% done on, then I'll be going through the whole story chapter by chapter giving it revisions to hopefully make it all the same level of quality that I've reached after this year of writing.

Crimson wasn't an intentionally bad OC, just a poor choice in colour scheme in some peoples eyes.
His personality makes up for it though, definitely.
