She runs up to her

She gives her a confused, innocent stare.

He looks down at the pendant around his neck, sitting right over the large burn that still hadn't healed from those many weeks ago...

"It was my mommy's, she gave it to me the night before the..." He sniffles.

"Yeah, J. At least better childhood, than we all had." He gives another look at kids. "Come on, I'll help you patrol town, it's not like something might happen to them here. And besides." Flexes his neck. "I always keep eye on them."
